Agent User Guide
DeciSym BDR Conference Agent
The BDR Conference Agent helps you prepare for conferences. Give it a conference link, ask a question, and it gives you answers — speakers, sessions, companies, and more.
If you also have a Salesforce account connected, it can cross-reference conference speakers against your CRM contacts — but that's completely optional.
Note: This tool is in its first iteration. The core functionality is in place and more capabilities are coming in future updates.
Before You Start (One-Time Setup)
Required — Connect Your Broker Token
When your BDR Conference Agent is provisioned, you'll be shown agent credentials — a URL and an API key. These are used to configure the agent connection.
- In watsonx Orchestrate, go to Manage > Connections
- Search for "DeciSym", find the connection with ID decisym_bdr_key_value_decisym_02fe2ed5 and click Configure
- Enter the URL and API key displayed during provisioning
- Click Save
That's all you need to get started.
Optional — Connect Your Salesforce Account
If you want to cross-reference conference speakers against your CRM contacts, you'll need to set up the Salesforce connection. Follow the instructions in the IBM watsonx Orchestrate Salesforce documentation.
- "Who are all the speakers at this conference: [link]?"
- "Who from [Company] is speaking at [link]?"
- "What companies are represented at [link]?"
- "Which companies have the most speakers at [link]?"
About Sessions
- "What sessions are happening at [link]?"
- "Show me all sessions related to [topic] at [link]."
- "Who is speaking in the Keynote at [link]?"
CRM Cross-Referencing (requires Salesforce connection)
- "Which of my CRM contacts are speaking at [link]?"
- "Show me speakers at [link] who work at companies in my CRM."
- "Are any of my Salesforce contacts presenting at [link]?"
Important: One Conference at a Time
The agent can only work with one conference at a time. When you ask about a different conference, the previous one's data is replaced.
Your CRM data is separate and stays available — you only need to refresh it if your Salesforce contacts have changed.
- One conference at a time. Asking about a new conference replaces the previous one's data.
- Name matching is exact. When cross-referencing CRM contacts with conference speakers, names need to match exactly. Differences like "Mike" vs "Michael" won't be caught.
- Website coverage varies.
- The agent extracts what's available on the conference website. If the full agenda hasn't been published yet, or if speaker info is loaded dynamically, results may be incomplete.
- The provided conference url must point to an agenda, https://www.redhat.com/en/summit/connect/philadelphia-2025 versus https://www.redhat.com/en/summit/connect.
- CRM is optional. Everything works without Salesforce. You just won't be able to ask questions about your contacts.
More capabilities are planned for future updates.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to Do |
|---|---|
| No matches found between CRM and conference | Check for name spelling differences or nicknames between your CRM and the conference site. |
| Conference data seems incomplete | The full speaker list may not be published yet, or the site may load content in a way that's difficult to extract. |
| Bearer token or broker error | Contact your administrator to verify your token is correct and hasn't expired. |
